Ulta Haul 7/14/12

So yesterday I went to...
Yep, the wonderful land of Ulta!
So I decided to pick up some NYX items I've been eyeing because they were on sale. ;)

First was the Xtreme Lip Cream (05 Bonfire)
(Sorry, my computer isn't turning the photo for me...)
Anyway, this sells for $5.99 and is 0.23oz (7mL)
The container reads, " It's not lipstick, nor is it gloss. It's like nothing you've experienced before. It's liquid lipstick that goes on with full Xtreme color and intense shine."
The color is a beautiful pink which has a bit of a berry hue but not full-blown berry.

Then I purchased the NYX Color Lip Balm in 01 Merci
This sells for $3.79 for .14oz (4g)
Because this is a balm, the color is not super duper pigmented. Though after swatched, I was happy to see that it was still pretty pigmented for a balm. It seems as if it will be a nice, subtle pop of color.

Swatches of the lip products; lip cream on top, lip balm on bottom.

How pretty?! :)

Next, I bought two NYX pigments.
The first of the two was the Ultra Pearl Mania in 03 White Pearl
My flash was a little too bright for this.. but it's pretty much just a white shimmery pearl color. I plan to use this over other eye shadows for a pretty sheen. This sells for $2.99 for .06fl.oz (5mL).

Lastly, I bought the Glitter Mania in 09 Disco Ball
This is just a fun, glittery color. I don't expect to find use for this in everyday wear.. but I want to try it as eyeliner. How fun would that be?! It's the same price and size as the previous pigment.

Swatch Time

Because NYX was on sale, my subtotal came up to be $11.61. Not bad, not bad. :)

Addison Montgomery

Although I take notice of people's makeup, I never usually think, "that is beautiful, absolutely beautiful". I mean sure, I see makeup and want to try it or something but man oh man.. when I saw the makeup of Kate Walsh's character Addison Montgomery on Grey's Anatomy, my jaw dropped. Her makeup is always amazing. She always has a matte eye look and dark matte lip.
Gorgeous, right?
Addison Montgomery is definitely my makeup inspiration for the time-being.
Now on to watching more Grey's Anatomy.. another current favorite.. ;)

First Thoughts: Revlon ColorStay Foundation

Let me start out by saying: I am not a foundation girl. Foundation never feels right on my skin, it's almost like it's a mask. It makes me look oily/greasy. I just look like a mess when I wear it. I've tried countless products, brushes, and techniques. I finally gave up on foundation. I don't need it anyway, yes I have discoloration and acne, but I'm only a teenager, I don't need to be covering that up anyway.
For my brother's wedding, which was last week, I was a bridesmaid. I was in countless pictures and my skin was acting up. I knew I wanted a little coverage for this day. So two days before I asked my mom and my sister to pick up this Revlon ColorStay foundation for combination/oily skin, the one that I've heard amazing reviews about. What did I have to lose anyway? So I tried it the night before the wedding, for the rehearsal dinner and oh my goodness. This foundation worked wonders. I wouldn't say it is really heavy coverage, but I like that. It covered enough without making me look like a slabbed on mud on my face. It didn't make me feel oily, it didn't feel as if it was even on my face. It lasted all night - due to the help of other products I use.. If I was a foundation wearer, I'd wear this everyday. But like I said, I'm just a teenager, and I don't want to be covering up my acne to only make it worse.
In my opinion this foundation is fairly priced. At my Ulta, it is $11.99 which might seem kind of pricey for a drugstore foundation. None of the foundations I've purchased for less even compare. I'd say their color choices are great. They have 20 different colors to pick from on Ulta's website. Some unfortunately are online only.
My shade is 200 Nude. I apply this over my Origins VitaZing moisturizer with my Sigma F60 brush. I then tap over everything was my Sigma duo fiber F50 brush to even everything out. After that, I'll use my Sigma large powder F30 brush to sweep my Maybelline Dream Matte Powder on.
I'd give this product a 4.5 out of 5.

Oh man, oh man..

It's been awhile since I posted. I always think I should post more because I'm terrified (and don't feel like I even deserve to) to make YouTube videos. So here I am, back to my blog that has been ignored these past few months. But hopefully I can resurrect this. So I've been spending money on makeup... gahhh! I NEED to start doing reviews. Need need need. So here I am, blogging about how I need to blog more. Hmm.. ironic sort of? No? Okay..

Too Faced Natural Eye

I received this for Christmas and have used it a total of three times. Have any of you tried it? I'm liking it so far. It comes with a variety of colors and finishes. I'm especially enjoying Silk Teddy for all over lid and Sexspresso in my crease! The color Honey Pot has also caught my curiosity. What are your favorite combinations?
